I did find that after the "war scenes" parts, it did tend to drag out a little. I don't know if I liked the story so much as the way it was written. I expected this movie to be sappy and maudlin and in a way it was, but it was so well done I was quite moved by it. I hope that book will be highly amazing and enlight me like Five People did.

I think this movie TRIED to be encouraging and uplifting but it was incredibly depressing. I thought it was a good read but I now feel that I wouldn’t read it again. I was satisfied by how the life events that occurred in Eddie’s life were explained. If you really want to read a good book about the afterlife, pick up Dante's The Divine Comedy, read the first few pages, then throw it down in frustration and decide that there's no good middle ground.
I also heard Mitch Albom’s novel “Tuesdays with Morrie” is another well written book too, so I will be checking that one out sometime. I am a completely different person than I was before my son died - so I could very much look at this movie & say that each story line - I could relate to or I learned something new.
