So this place is pretty small--I would guess at 30/35 people and this place is near maxed out. Stop in and enjoy our espresso bar, the full cocktail bar, European afternoon tea (by reservation), warming comfort food and decadent desserts. Thank you for an enjoyable dining experience! That was my cue to leave. That was my cue to leave. The chocolate cake was rich so I would recommend splitting it and it is huge!

    5. They were very friendly and helpful. This chance visit proved to be an absolute delight! This dinner spot is wonderful! This place doesn't even deserve one star. This place reminds me of European cafes, like something you would find in Vienna, and I like to think that it is a little slice of Europe nestled in the business of East Bay. This was our second visit to this wonderful, charming find in Charleston.

Should have known to turn around immediately when I saw only one only diner in the whole restaurant. Should have known to turn around immediately when I saw only one only diner in the whole restaurant. Small place, nice bar, small menu but GREAT food.

Our bartender was great for conversation and we learned about a place we'd never been and look forward to coming back. Our waitress seemed busy talking to the other waitress while the kitchen took forever. Owner came over and really made us feel welcome. Please enable JavaScript in your browser settings to continue.

It's a fairly small place, but even so, it was so quiet. Its a little pricey, but for this part of town, I suppose its average. Later on, you can snack on light fare such as soups and sandwiches before you graduate to cheese plates and salads. MacOS may now prompt you to enable Location Services. Men in suits and fedora hat's drinking martini's and talking about the long day at work before going home to wives wearing Betty Crocker dresses and flowery aprons.

I stopped in to have a drink before going to an event downtown. I was with a group and we were all getting a little grouchy trying to pick a restaurant to everyone's liking and all tired of some of the inflated prices at a lot of the restaurants on this street. I'm glad I stumbled upon this spot, and look forward to returning soon! If I lived in Charleston, I would frequent this establishment often.

The couple raved about the dinner but I can only attest to the quality of the cocktails. The day we were there, the service was slow. The dessert was amazing as well (like the server said- by far the best creme brulee I've ever had), and the service was phenomenal. The dish was really good, especially the shrimp. The entree came with a side salad and what was remarkable was the "deconstructed" nature of the salad. The first time was when we were searching for a good cup of coffee and lunch.

We were confident with the response and had great food, friendly service and very happy we stopped in! We'd definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to others. Went here to get a bite to eat after happy hour because my friend and I were craving shrimp scampi. While we ordered cocktails the couple next to us was finishing up dinner and yet another patron was relaxing enjoying coffee and a pastry. While what we ordered was tasty the presentation was basic.

Fabulous night with my husband and son. For dessert we had the chocolate cake, flourless chocolate cake, and creme brûlée. Good happy hour specials, but not a very lively atmosphere. Great atmosphere and good food and beer prices. Great food and great value. He made it KNOWN that he didn't want me in there.

Cute little space and friendly service.East Bay is a nice bar and they do great coffee, but do have a limited menu with three or four starters and three or four main courses.East Bay is a small restaurant.

We did not want to end our night out early so we both ordered espresso martinis. We got the meat and cheese boards and we're very happy with them. We had both breakfast and dinner in this quaint restaurant. We had dinner with friends in an environment that allowed us time to visit. We ordered a couple of apps, and everything was pretty average, though I was told that if looking for a meal, some of the items are pretty exceptional.

The place is tiny but if there's a wait, it is absolutely worth it. The portions were adequate and the shrimp scampi was okay, more pasta then shrimp. The serving was large and the pasta was perfect. The whole ambiance radiated warmth. The whole restaurant was very accommodating and I will return for their highly praised eggs benedict next, Saturday morning. They don't even have high chairs.

      1. Breakfast and dinner portions were moderately priced and of good portion size.
      2. But the place was only half full.
      3. Captioned turner classic movies instead of sports on the bar tv.
      4. Chardonnay just what you'd expect.
      5. They just couldn't manage it and didn't seem very concerned that their patrons were not receiving the service they should. They split the small appetizer salad, which was really tiny once it was split. They split the small appetizer salad, which was really tiny once it was split.

The interior is nothing to rave about but the location it's self is great. The intimate atmosphere and friendly patrons brought our energy right up. The intimate atmosphere and friendly patrons brought our energy right up.

Most bars are essentially the same-they serve cheap, greasy food and drinks to drunk college kids at night. Normally, we would turn around a move on, but we made a pact that we would go to whichever bar the app chose for at least one drink. Offered a rocks glass instead! Or, search near a city, place, or address instead.

We ordered hot cappuccinos instantly but what marked the highlight of the evening was the Pain Perdu which is modestly described as the dessert version of French Toast served with the most delicious vanilla ice cream we've ever tasted and cut fruit. We slipped in early one evening while we were visiting Charleston. We visited this place tucked in a corner of downtown Charleston on a rainy day on the Labor day weekend.
